Social Value refers to the broader financial and non-financial benefits our activities bring to the communities in which we operate. At Dandara Living, the creation of Social & Local Value is a key pillar of our Sustainability Strategy, delivering positive outcomes across social, environmental and wellbeing indicators.

We are proud to work alongside a diverse range of community organisations, supporting vital initiatives in education, skills development, arts and sustainability. Whether through volunteering, partnerships, or in-kind contributions, we remain committed to helping build stronger, more resilient communities around our developments, whether in planning, under construction, or under management.

COMMUNITY & SUSTAINABILITY

Supporting Community Growth at Windmill Hill City Farm

For a second year, Dandara Living were a pledge matcher in Windmill Hill City Farm’s Big Give Christmas Challenge. Raising a total of £17,089, this year’s campaign exceeded their ambitious target of £15,000 and will enable them to continue to improve wellbeing and mental health in the BS3 area through their supported volunteering programme.

Supporting Redcatch Community Garden

Our Bristol site logistics team delivered 40 repurposed pallets to Redcatch Community Garden, a thriving community-led space promoting sustainability. The delivery, made using our electric van, is just one example of how small acts of support can make a big difference to local initiatives.

Creating Safe Spaces with One25 & Cast Living

Together with Cast Living, we’ve helped furnish four new homes for One25, a Bristol charity supporting marginalised women. As part of our Stafford Yard development, we provided storage and delivery for the donated furniture, ensuring each space is safe, welcoming, and ready for a fresh start.

Spreading Joy with The Clutha Trust

In Glasgow, we continue our valued partnership with The Clutha Trust. Their arts programmes and outreach initiatives help disadvantaged young people and vulnerable individuals find purpose, joy, and creative expression. We’re proud to support their ongoing work, from helping with utility costs to hosting inclusive community meals. Watch the video of all the activities they’re involved with here .

ARTS & CULTURE

Championing Theatre with Insane Root & Actors' Workshop

As sponsors of Insane Root Theatre’s all-female production of Henry V at Temple Church, we were delighted to support a bold retelling of Shakespeare’s work in one of Bristol’s most atmospheric venues. Alongside the performance, long-time partners Actors’ Workshop delivered a “Shakespeare and Women” workshop series, bringing local organisations together to explore female voices in theatre and celebrate the city’s vibrant creative scene.

Spotlight on Youth Talent: Griffin Theatre's Tit for Tat

Our partnership with acta Community Theatre supported Griffin Theatre, their youth company for ages 12–17, in bringing their latest production to life. This July, the group debuted Tit for Tat — a playful and imaginative show filled with fashion feuds, circus surprises, and nightclub antics. We were proud to help empower young people to explore their creativity on stage.

Celebrating 40 Years of acta Theatre

To mark acta’s 40th birthday, we’ve extended our sponsorship of their Creative Wellbeing Café through to 2025. This volunteer-led space brings communities together through art, conversation and affordable food. We're delighted to be part of their Big 40 campaign and their ongoing work in social inclusion. EDUCATION & SKILLS

Inspiring Future Builders Through Real-World Experience

We recently welcomed T-Level students from Brooklands College to our Renshaw’s Yard development in Staines-upon-Thames, offering aspiring bricklayers a hands-on look at modern construction and project management in action.

Over in Glasgow, students and lecturers from the Built Environment department at City of Glasgow College visited our City Wharf development. The visit formed part of their course on contemporary construction methods and gave them valuable insights into site logistics, sustainability, and health and safety.

It’s rewarding to support future industry professionals by helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience.
